Hausa–Fulani group in Plateau PDP resolves internal crisis

A Hausa-Fulani group within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Jos North local government area of Plateau State has resolved an internal crisis that rocked the group for years with a firm resolution to work together for the success of the party in the 2027 elections.

In a communiqué issued after its meeting on Tuesday and signed by the PDP Hausa–Fulani Reconciliation Committee, the group said it has resolved all the internal differences, which marks a new phase of unity, cooperation, and progress.

Chairman of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, Alhaji Bello Nakande, disclosed that, following a series of constructive engagements, all stakeholders and members had agreed to reconcile and work harmoniously as one united family, supporting Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The communique stated that the immediate past Chairman of the state PDP, Chris Adakuchili Hassan, and the outgoing State Executive Committee had charted a reputable path for the party and also praised the SEC for their patriotic stewardship and crucial role in reclaiming power for the PDP during the 2023 general elections.

“We want to use this medium to congratulate the outgoing Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Chris Adakuchili Hassan, and the State Executive Committee for their sacrifice, resilience, and strategic leadership. They were a source of inspiration to party members across Plateau State,” the group said.

While congratulating the newly elected Chairman of the party, Raymond Dabo, the group condemned what it described as a malicious campaign of calumny allegedly sponsored by opposition figures, who have falsely claimed that Dabo is a convicted individual.

“Let us also use this medium to clarify that Dabo was duly discharged, cleared, and acquitted by a competent court of law. The allegations by the APC are desperate attempts to distract our great party from its renewed mandate of service and inclusiveness.

“We also reaffirm our unwavering support for the administration of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, commending his people-oriented leadership and commitment to peace, unity, and development in Plateau State, and will work assiduously for his re-election bid in 2027.

“With renewed energy and shared purpose, we stand united to support the PDP and ensure its triumph in all forthcoming political engagements and Elections for the benefit of our people and our beloved Plateau State,” the communique stated.
