The northern socio – political organization, the Arewa Consultative Forum, (ACF) has decried the wide gap in the education balance between the region and other parts of the country and stressed on the need to bridge the gap for the development of the region

The ACF chieftain said the forthcoming elections should afford the region the opportunity to discover itself and works towards realizing the dream of the founding fathers of the region such as the first premier of the region Sir Ahmadu Bello and Sir Abubakar Tafawa Belawa amongst others.
He noted that the inauguration of the LGA chapters in Jigawa state coincides with the silver jubilee celebration of ACF which comes up in Kaduna on Thursday stating that state chapter had crucial role to play towards ensuring the success of the three-day event.
According to him, “The massive participation of Jigawa state delegation is very crucial because the Chairman of the Forum’s Board of Trustees (BoT) Barrister Bashir Dalhatu, is an illustrious son of Jigawa state so it will be fitting for us to be present to give him the necessary support.”
Commenting on the ongoing voter registration exercise, the ACF chieftain stressed that going by all indices, the forum was not satisfied with the progress of the exercise in the state and called for more enlightenment efforts to the people’s conscience towards the exercise.
His words, “I cannot emphasize the importance of the exercise as it is our civic duty. I believe that in the last four years many people have, for a variety of reasons became eligible to vote, some have attained minimum voting age, some have relocated to other parts of the country.
“But you’ll agree with me that turn out of f the people for this exercise in Jigawa is far from satisfactory and we stressed the need for them to redouble their efforts in the public enlightenment, so that we, as a body can complement government efforts in this direction.”
