At 64, one would have thought that our dear country, Nigeria will be a choice destination, a true reflection of the giant of Africa and the envy of other countries, but unfortunately, the reverse is the case.

As bad as it seems, we are still hopeful that one day, we as a nation, will get it right in all spheres, ranging from our economy, governance, security, among others.

As we mark yet another year of gaining independence from our colonial masters, I, on behalf of the Labour Party, Soumert th East, Nigeria make a clarion call to our leaders at all levels , to examine and re-examine our actions and policies which are not beneficial to the larger population of the country.

There is urgent need to reflect and take actions which are capable of rescuing our economy from the rot it has been plunged into and save Nigerians from immense hardship they are currently faced with.

Fellow Nigerians and Abians especially, I urge you all to remain positive and not be detered by the current economic crisis, for we will overcome by God’s grace.

May God bless Nigeria!

May God bless Abia State!

HAPPY 64TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY.

Mr. Ceekay Igara

Labour Party National Vice Chairman, South East.
