Obi To Get Distant 4th, Should He Fly ADC flag In 2027- Arabambi.

Abayomi Arabambi, the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the Labour Party (LP), has cast doubt on former presidential candidate Peter Obi’s electoral appeal if he contests under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform. In an interview with Arise TV, Arabambi argued that Obi’s political influence would sharply decline outside the Labour Party, predicting that he would finish a “distant fourth” in any upcoming election under ADC.
Arabambi recounted the Labour Party’s initial support for Obi, despite what he described as “problematic behavior,” highlighting that the party, including its leadership, rallied behind him. However, he claimed Obi tried to repeat patterns from his previous political affiliations—namely APGA and PDP—by disregarding party norms and attempting to assert himself in a similar manner within the Labour Party. The LP leader further cited Obi’s poor performance in his own polling unit during the 2023 election as evidence of waning local support, stating, “When you lose in your ward, that means you are no more consequential.” This statement underscores Arabambi’s view that Obi’s political relevance has diminished and that shifting to another party would not improve his chances.
These remarks reveal growing tensions within the Labour Party and signal a sharp departure from its earlier embrace of Obi. Arabambi’s comments suggest that internal party dynamics and past political behavior may significantly influence Obi’s future electoral prospects, particularly if he seeks a platform outside the Labour Party. The interview reflects deep divisions and a sense of betrayal felt by some party leaders regarding Obi’s political trajectory.
