According to the release by the Acting Publicity Secretary Sterling Urakpa, the party maintained that Senator Kalu’s visit was for his personal engagement and has nothing in common with the party’s stance. The party expressed serious concern on the activities of the Labour Party-led administration under Governor Otti, citing issues undemocratic tenets, lack of due contract process, transparency, as well as government of one man show, as already stated by the State Chairman Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu during the launch of the Renewed Hope Partners in Bende on May 28, 2025.

The Abia APC expressed strong disapproval of any party member engaging in political fraternization with opposition figures under the guise of supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The party warned against actions that could compromise its integrity, referencing similar incidents during the 2023 elections, and vowed to enforce discipline to prevent a recurrence.

The statement urged ward and local government executives in Senator Kalu’s and Senator Chris Adighije’s constituencies to remain vigilant and protect the party’s unity ahead of the 2027 elections. The APC reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining focus and enforcing discipline to ensure electoral success in Abia State.

The party also called on Abians to critically assess the state’s governance by comparing it with other states, asserting that the public is “applauding for less work done” despite significant federal support. The Abia APC remains determined to align the state with the federal government under the APC’s leadership in 2027.
