Abia First Lady backs youth empowerment, cultural heritage promotion, as she hosts miss Diaspora Nigeria
The First Lady of Abia State, Her Excellency Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has assured that she is committed to empowering young women and youths, and promoting the state’s cultural heritage.
The wife of the governor restated her commitment during a courtesy visit by Miss Diaspora Nigeria, USA 2024 Top Model, First Runner-Up, and Best Cultural Costume winner, Miss Ugonma Ogbonnaya, at her home in Nvosi over the weekend.
Ogbonnaya, is an indigene of Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
Mrs Otti appreciated Ogbonnaya who recently conducted a medical outreach in Igbere, Bende LGA, and assured her of the government’s willingness to partner with her in initiatives that align with the vision of the Alex Otti administration.
Mrs. Otti further encouraged Miss Ogbonnaya to remain focused and steadfast in her mission to empower the younger generation, especially in tackling issues like Gender-Based Violence (GBV), which is a priority for her office.
Responding, Ogbonnaya expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti and Mrs. Priscilla Otti for the support and opportunities given to her to represent Abia State on the global level.
She revealed that she aims to create programs that will inspire and empower young women to pursue their aspirations while staying connected to their roots.
