Abia LP Chairman, Ceekay Igara calls for calm over attack on soldiers in Aba | Read Details
The Abia State Labour Party Chairman, Ceekay Igara has condemned the attack on a military outpost located at the Milverton area of Aba on Friday night by yet to be identified Gunmen.
Igara in a statement issued on Saturday, commiserated with the Nigerian Army, 14 Brigade Ohafia, families of the deceased and injured soldiers and prayed that their souls will find rest.
He pleaded with the military not to engage in any form of reprisal attack rather ensure that there is peace in the city.
The statement read;
“It is with deep regret that I received the news of the attack on the gallant soldiers of the Nigerian Army, 14 Brigade Ohafia at Milverton Avenue in Aba on Friday evening.
This attack on soldiers by hoodlums is quite unfortunate, uncalled-for and I therefore condemn it in it’s totality.
I commiserate with the Nigerian Army, the Commander 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Brigadier General O.O. Diya, and the immediate family of the soldier who lost his life in this attack and pray for the quick recovery of the injured one.
I plead with the Nigerian Army to ensure decorum and not engage in any form of reprisal attack.
I also encourage our people to remain calm and be law abiding as Abia belongs to all of us.”
