Abia LP Disassociates From A Purported SWC and Stakeholders Meeting, As It Warn Members Against Imposters.
The Abia State Chapter of the Labour Party has notified the general public, particularly members of the Labour Party with the purported notice of the State working committee and stakeholders meeting of the Labour party in Abia State alleged to have been convened by the former acting state chairman Sir Emma Otti.
In a release on Wednesday 4 December jointly signed by the party’s State acting Chairman, Hon. Prince GO Ndubueze and Hon. Tobias Egeonu , the acting Publicity Secretary respectively, where they described the purported notice as coming from impersonators and imposters who do not mean well, as well as do not have the authority of the Labour party in Abia State to convene a any meeting of the Labour party in Abia State and warn party members to disregard the said notice and take it as unauthorized and illegal.
Recall that recently, the Emma Otti led SWC was dissolved by the NWC, the highest organ of the Party in-line with the constitutional provisions of the Party and also recall that Sir Emma Otti who never went for a Congress for the position which the same NWC appointed him on acting capacity for only 3 three months, ignorantly restrained the acting state chairman with an order of the court, Prince GO Ndubueze from parading as the acting State Chairman, which on the 26th of November, 2024, at the proceeding of the matter between Emma Otti and Labour Party, the said order was vacated by the court. Hon Otti had since seized to be the acting state chairman of the Party with the dissolutions of the SWC by the National Working Committee (NWC) as his appointment on acting capacity in line with the constitution of the Party was just for 3 months.
The party also with this statement enjoined members to discountenance this misleading and mischievous notice and treat same as garbage, and urge members not to fall victim of this misinformation and their antics as that didn’t emanate from the Abia State chapter of the Labour party leadership as party will not hesitate to subject any defaulting members who attends the illegal meeting to a disciplinary action.
The statement reads:
“The attention of the Labour Party (LP) Abia State has been drawn to a notice purportedly inviting the State Working Committee (SWC) of Labour Party Abia State and other stakeholders to a meeting on Friday 6th December, 2024 at 74 School Road Umuahia.
“Labour Party Abia State wish to use this medium to repudiate the notice as it is not coming from Labour Party Abia State.
“Labour Party hereby treats the notice as coming from impostors who go about parading themselves as Labour Party officials.
“Labour Party Abia State, therefore dissociates self from that mischievous notice. It should be noted that 74 School Road Umuahia is no longer the office for Labour Party in Abia State but Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
“Meanwhile, on the 26th of November, 2024, at the proceeding of the matter between Emma Otti and Labour Party, Counsel for Emma Otti withdrew the Motion on Notice that prayed the court for an Order Restraining Prince GO Ndubueze from Acting State Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State.
“Labour Party members are by this disclaimer enjoined to discountenance that misleading and mischievous notice and treat same as garbage, but any member that ignored this warning message and attended the meeting should be ready to face Labour Party disciplinary action.
Let us be guided accordingly”
