Abia PDP Appoints Shadow Government Cabinet Members.

In an effort for the opposition political party, the PDP in Abia to scrutinise actions, inactions and policies, as well as offer alternative opinions to the ruling Labour Party in the State, Elder Abraham Amah the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party has appointed key party members to serve as Shadow government cabinet members.

Recall that recently the Abia PDP notified the State Assembly of their intentions to forming a shadow government.

According to a release signed by the parties state publicity secretary, Eric Ikwuagwu, 13 names appointed as shadow government cabinet members were commissioners while 6 names were as personal assistant to the State Chairman and some key positions to serve in theĀ  party secretariat.

The release also tasked members of the Abia State Shadow Government not only to providing alternative viewpoints, but also to conduct research, and offer recommendations on policies that affect the lives of the Abia people.

Elder Amah however expressed appreciation to the party members who accepted the appointments as well as contributing towards the development of the state.

The statement reads:

“The Chairman of Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Abraham Amah has approved the appointment of the following distinguished Abians to serve in the Abia State Shadow Government (ABSSHG). These appointments reflect our commitment to holding the State government accountable to its responsibility to Abia citizens, scrutinise actions, inactions and policies of Abia government; as well as offer alternative opinions. These appointees will mirror the positions of each individual State government ministry with their expertise and dedication to serving the people of Abia State with differing but viable alternative viewpoints.
