Abia State Government With The World Bank, Award Contracts For The Upgrade Of Primary Health Care In Abia.
In-line with the vision of the Governor of Abia State , His Excellency Dr Alex Otti in revitalising and improving health sector in the state.
A one day Stakeholders engagement meeting on the impact of the contributions of State Health Sector 2025 by the State Impact Project Implementation Unit with the Abia State Primary Health Development Agency was held on Thursday 23 January 2025 at the Aguiyi Ironsi Conference centre in the State Capital Umuahia.
His Excellency Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, Abia State Deputy Governor, who spoke through the Deputy Chief of staff office of the Deputy Governor, Bar Chijioke Nwankwo assured of the Health revitalisation in the State under the leadership of His Excellency Dr Alex Otti, which was the reason for the engagement meeting.
Contracts were also awarded to deserving and capable contractors for the upgrade of Primary Health Care in Abia State. The Deputy Chief of Staff urges the contractors to deliver their jobs in accordance to specifications and on times, as he assured of Government monitoring team to ensure specification compliance and standards.
The State Health Commissioner, Prof Enoch Uche expressed happiness on the outcome of the Impact Project Implementation, highlighting an increased immunization records in the State from 65-70 percent, which he justified on the positives impact of health care workers training.
Speaking also, Dr Kalu Uju Kalu, the Executive Secretary Abia State Primary Health Care Development Agency re-emphasised the purpose of the stakeholders meeting which according to him is to review the activities of health care development project which is sponsored by the World Bank to addressing the key Health components.
Amongst the benefiting contractors to providing the upgrade of the primary health care in Abia State is Good Deals Exclusive Link LTD, who was represented by the Director, Chief Chester Uche.
In his response, Chief Uche reaffirmed his Company’s determination in maintaining standards, as he assured the optimism in delivery on time and in accordance to project specifications.
“Our company has been tested and trusted, our standard is topnotch, we will deliver quality work in accordance to specifications and on times” Uche assured.
