Abians have not seen the last of Labour Party – Ceekay Igara challenges Ben Kalu | Read Details

The National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party in south east, Hon. Ceekay Igara has countered the claim made by the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu that governor Alex Otti will be the last governor of the party in Abia state.

Reacting to Kalu’s outburst on Tuesday, Igara who is the immediate past Abia state Chairman of labour party, reminded the former, that Abians gave labour party and governor Alex Otti their mandate to deliver dividends of democracy which was not in existence before the 2023 general elections, adding that more governors produced by the party will oversee the affairs of Abia state after Otti.

Igara also noted that Labour Party remains the party to beat, coupled with the developmental strides of governor Alex Otti in Abia state and therefore, challenged Ben Kalu to prove his allegation that Abians are enjoying the dividends of democracy from the federal government.

He reminded Kalu that he has only one vote and should not wave off the voting powers of Abians.

In his words;

” He (Ben Kalu) took the position of God. He made some profound statements which I challenge him to come and prove to Abians. He said no more monkey dey work, baboon dey chop; that Abians are enjoying dividends of democracy from the federal government.

Come and tell us which monkey dey work, baboon dey chop. Is it not Dr Alex Otti’s government that is working in Abia?, come and prove to Abians that monkey dey work, baboon dey chop. I challenge him to make it more open, those things Abians are enjoying that are coming from the federal government that he is attributing to monkey and the baboon.

“It is not true that governor Alex Otti is the last governor of labour party. This is the begining of labour party in Abia state. Let him go and write it somewhere” .
