Amaechi who announced this in an interview following the unveiling of the interim executive of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Abuja this Wednesday, (2/7/25), revealed that he resigned from APC on Tuesday night and expressed surprise that he had not been expelled from the party, despite having warned them not to send him invitations to meetings.

He accused the APC of colluding with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to hijack the 2027 elections.

Answering a question on why he chose not to support the current administration, the former Minister said, “No, it’s not about changing the government. If it were just about changing the government, then there would be no need to do so. It’s about changing Nigeria.”

According to him, Nigeria is completely destroyed as People can’t eat, can’t buy food, there’s no money to buy food and Inflation is at its peak.

“And the federal government is busy going around trying to hijack the election. INEC is helping them to hijack the election.

“No, no, no. What must happen here is that we must start not just a party, but a movement. It must be a movement that brings Nigerians to, on their own, take over government, not us.”
