Ceekay Igara Mourns Uma Ukpai, Says “A Voice is Gone” | Read Details
The National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party (Southeast), Hon. Ceekay Igara, has mourned the passing of world-renowned evangelist, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai.
Describing the loss as monumental, Igara said that “a great voice of the gospel is gone.”
In a statement made available to the press on Monday, Igara described the death as “not just a blow to the immediate family, but also to the Ohafia community, the Christian community, Abia State, Nigeria, and the world at large.”
Reacting with deep emotion, he said: “The news came to me as a rude shock. I had gone to see him just a few months ago, and we spoke with assurances of seeing again before the year ends. His passing has left a very big vacuum, one that will be difficult to fill.”
He prayed for God’s comfort over the bereaved family and everyone affected by the loss.
“May God console his immediate family and all who mourn him,” he said.
Hon. Igara also urged the public not to mourn like those without hope, noting that Dr. Uma Ukpai “lived his entire life winning souls for the Kingdom,” and there is “assurance of meeting him again on the resurrection morning.”
