Chelsea And Enzo Maresca Part Ways As Club Seeks Season Reset – Arise News
Chelsea Football Club have confirmed that head coach Enzo Maresca has left the club, with both parties agreeing to part company as the season reaches a critical stage.
In a statement released on Thursday, Chelsea acknowledged Maresca’s impact during his time at Stamford Bridge, highlighting his role in guiding the team to victory in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
“During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club,” the statement read.
Despite those successes, the club said a change in leadership was necessary as Chelsea continue to compete on multiple fronts. With key objectives still at stake across four competitions, including the push for Champions League qualification, both Maresca and the club agreed that a new direction would offer the best chance of getting the season back on track.
Chelsea concluded the statement by wishing the Italian coach well in his future endeavours, bringing an end to his tenure as the club turns its focus to the remainder of the campaign.
