Eid al-Adha: Ceekay Igara Felicitates with Muslim Faithful, Urges Unity, Sacrifice, and Compassion
The National Vice Chairman, Southeast of the Labour Party, Hon. Ceekay Igara, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria, particularly in the Southeast, as they celebrate this year’s Eid al-Adha (Eid al-Kabir), one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar.
In a message made available to the press, Hon. Igara emphasized the spiritual importance of the season, urging Muslims to reflect on the virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice, and compassion which define the essence of Eid al-Adha.
“Eid al-Adha is a time of deep spiritual reflection. It calls us to remember the power of faith, the strength in obedience to God, and the importance of selfless sacrifice for the good of others,” he said.
Hon. Igara commended the Muslim faithful for their unwavering commitment to peaceful coexistence and religious harmony, particularly in a region as culturally diverse as the Southeast. He urged continued prayers for Nigeria and a deeper commitment to national unity and justice.
According to him “Our country stands at a critical crossroads, and we must all regardless of faith or background commit ourselves to values that unite, uplift, and heal,” he noted. “The spirit of Eid should inspire compassion for the less privileged and renewed dedication to peace and progress.”
He further called on religious and community leaders to use the occasion to foster mutual understanding, tolerance, and social responsibility.
“Let us extend the blessings of Eid to our neighbours, regardless of their faith. Let the message of sacrifice translate into practical acts of kindness and love across our communities,” Hon. Igara urged.
While acknowledging the challenges facing the nation, especially in terms of security and economic hardship, he reiterated the Labour Party’s commitment to justice, inclusive development, and the upliftment of all Nigerians.
“This is a time to renew our hope in a better Nigeria, one where every citizen, irrespective of region or religion, can thrive in peace and dignity,” he concluded.
Hon. Ceekay Igara wished all Muslim faithful a joyful and blessed Eid celebration, praying for continued peace and prosperity across the country.
“Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers and sisters. May your sacrifices be accepted, and your prayers answered” he prayed.
