FG embarked on a 24-hour total closure of the third mainland bridge.
The Federal Ministry of Works has announced on Monday that the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State will be closed to traffic in both bounds of the carriage ways from 12 pm on Wednesday to 12 on Thursday.
The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mrs Olukorede Kesha stated this in a statement made available to journalists.
She said that the closure was in continuation of the ongoing rehabilitation works on the bridge.
“Consequently, the bridge would not be opened to traffic during this critical 24-hour period.
“Thus, all road users are advised to use alternative routes during this period. Please note that all inconveniences are highly regretted,” the statement read.
Motorists are advised to cooperate with the traffic management officials deployed to manage traffic to ensure hitch-free movements during the period.
Also, the Lagos State Government had also released a notification for the planned total closure of the bridge.
