How APC thugs attacked my convoy – Ex-AGF Malami alleges | READ DETAILS
The convoy of former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, was on Monday, attacked by thugs in Kebbi state.
The attack reportedly left ten vehicles damaged, and several supporters of Malami injured.
Speaking on the incident Malami revealed that the incident occurred as his convoy was returning from a condolence visit to the residence of the late Malam Tukur Kola, the Chief Imam of Dr. Bello Haliru Jumu’ah Mosque, who had passed away two days prior.
He alleged that on getting to his former party, APC’s office along Old NITEL Road, some thugs rushed out and started throwing stones.
Malami who defected to the ADC two months ago, added that the attack was politically motivated.
“It’s a painful act clearly linked to politics. Some thugs came out from the APC state headquarters armed with dangerous weapons and stones, attacking and destroying our convoy.
“The truth is, when it comes to politics in Kebbi State there is no retreat, no surrender,” Malami alleged.
Meanwhile, the Kebbi State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Isa Assalafy, has denied the party’s involvement in the attack noting that;
“Kebbi is a peaceful state. No government that enjoys massive support from the people and is confident of victory in 2027 would want the peace of the state to be disrupted,” Assalafy said.
The spokesman further accused security personnel attached to Malami’s convoy of opening fire during the confrontation, which he claimed escalated the situation.
