Adenoyin who was in a Nissan car, was reportedly arrested at a checkpoint with the skulls hidden in garri sacks with charm-s.

The suspect was said to have been in the vehicle with four other passengers when the personnel attached to the Police Safer Highway Patrol intercepted them on the road.

Parading the suspect before newsmen, the state police commissioner Abayomi Oladipo said;

“The suspect was en route to Akure when the Nissan Salon car he boarded was flagged down. Although he attempted to escape after the stop, the officers caught up with him and searched his luggage.

“Eight dry human skulls, fresh human flesh, and charms were found in a wrapped polythene bag concealed in a garri sack.

“Upon interrogation, Adenoyin, 37, confessed to being the owner of the skulls and explained that he was delivering them to a jazz man named Opeifa in the Oke-Onitea area of Osogbo.

“He equally mentioned other customers he usually supplies human skulls to include Almonso who lives at Oke-Onitea, Osogbo, Alfaa Agba who lives at Oke Ontea and also Oshoyemi who resides around the Oja Oba area.

“The suspect further confessed that the human skulls were usually handed over to him by one, Imaila living at Oboroke in Okene, and that each head is being sold for between thirty thousand Naira (N30,000) and thirty-five thousand (N35,000).”

The police commissioner added that the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) unit in Akure with his case file for further investigations.

Speaking to journalists, the suspect said he used to trade red oil and cashew nuts before the medical bills of his sick mother forced him into his latest business.

In his words;

“This will be my third time in this business. The first trip, I sold four heads, the second time, three, and the latest one, which is eight.

Also, this flesh comprises both human parts and dog heart. I bought the dog heart at Ibilo. For the skull, I usually buy it from my friend, Ismaila, who usually gets them from burial grounds.

“My mother has been sick; we took her to Lokoja, and the doctor said we need two million naira to revive her, so I had no choice but to venture into the s-kull business. I intended to leave the business once I gathered the money.

“So far, from the seven that I had sold, I’ve made N245,000. I actually sold them to different people. I meant the buyer on Facebook. He told me that he’s a herbalist.”
