“I Never Said She Was Guilty As Charged Or Convicted By Any Court”- Dr Okeke Tells Court In Defence Against Senator Nenadi’s Defamatory Suits.
According to court records, in a suit between Senator Nenadi Usman and Dr. Ifeanyi Anslem Okeke , in SUIT NO: LD/ADR/5869/2025, IN THE HIGH COURT OF LAGOS STATE, IN THE LAGOS JUDICIAL DIVISION SUIT , it is true that the allegations cited by the defendant in his write-up in the Labour Party National Youth Platform were made by the EFCC against the Claimant as quoted in his statement of claim.
The defendant cited these reports which have been available in the news for members of the forum to compare the Allegations made by the Claimant faction against the Faction of the Labour Party led by Bar Julius Abure who were re-elected in March 2024 in NNEWI through a Convention which is the only path through which political parties elect her National officers, that brought about the leadership of Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party which the Defendant belongs.
The defendant never said that the Claimant was guilty as charged nor convicted by any court of Law based on his statement on oath.
According to the Defendant statement of defence seen by Trustbase News, SUIT NO: LD/ADR/5869/2025 between Nenadi Usman and Dr Ifeanyi Anslem Okeke, the Defendant states that his write up on the Labour Party National Youth Forum Platform dated 09/02/2025 was just a citation of information already in the public domain in newspapers, online newspapers, EFCC’s website. Some of these publications include; Sahara Reporters online publication dated 05/09/2024.
Dr Ifeanyi’s statement of claim further reveals that some people loyal to the claimant or even recruited by the claimant were publishing corruption allegations against the authentic Labour Party leadership and National structure led by Barrister Julius Abure on same Labour Party National Youth Forum Platform and other Labour Party platforms.
According to the Defendant on 30/12/2024, one of those recruited by the Claimant to tarnish Barrister Julius Abure’s image publicly published:
“You cannot claim to be an official of a Christian Association and yet promoting an ABURE who is worse than the people in APC and PDP”
“Frankly, if you have any integrity, by the time you finish justifying the monumental corruption and ineptitude of Abure, I assure you that you will be full of regrets and disappointment”.
“The extent to which we supported Abure during his saga with Apapa and later Oluchi, you will not be able to match it. But when we realised the beastial and perennial transactional politician in Abure we had to withdraw from him, so are many doing in droves”.
Other WhatsApp publication by the agents recruited by the Claimant included the one on Labour Party Vision 2027 and S/E Obidient Coordinators. These publications shall be relied upon at trial.
These publications of course caused serious damages to the image and reputations of the Labour Party led by Barrister Julius Abure of which the Defendant as the Organizing Secretary of the Niger state chapter of the Labour Party has a right of response
The above statements has a lot as an answer. But is Senator Nenadi Usman aware that some of her followers actually abused the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Bar Julius Abure on the same platform as stated above?, why suing Dr Okeke?. Or could her actions on the suit against the defendant be seen as a mission of Vendetta in her LP leadership loss?.
