JUST IN: Students shot dead by gunmen in Yobe school.

Students at Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State has been reported killed by gunmen suspected to be members of dreaded Book Haram Insurgents.

Faudiya School belongs to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shiia sect in Nigeria.

According to sources, the assailants invaded Hausari quarters in Geidam LGA around 3:44am, on Friday.

According to reports from Daily Trust the gunmen struck when the victims were sleeping.

“The incident occurred at around 3:44 am, when the gunmen invaded Faudiya School a well known Shiite school in Geidam.”

“They (gunmen) attacked the school when these youth were asleep and brought them outside and shot them dead.

“There is tension and concern in the town after this incident. People are terrified over this unfortunate incident,” he said.

A local source from the vigilantes command told reporters that three members of Shiia sect were killed while one sustained injuries.

“We don’t know who they (gunmen) are but, all we knew is that they killed three students in the school. One person who tried to escape during the incident was injured and he has been hospitalized,” He said.

Reports also confirmed that the Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, have confirmed the incident but did not give details.
