Law students kidnapped in Benue regain freedom | READ DETAILS
Six law students of the Yola campus have regained freedom after spending six days in kidnapper’s den.
Recall that the students were kidnapped on July 26, 2025, along the Benue-Taraba boundary, while travelling from Anambra State to the Yola campus of the Nigerian Law School in Adamawa State.
Speaking in Makurdi on their release on Friday, August 1, the Benue State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Udeme Edet, said;
“Please be informed that the police have successfully rescued six law students of the Yola campus, who were abducted on July 26, 2025, while traveling from Anambra State to Adamawa State, have been safely released and united with their families this morning, August 1, 2025.
“Police authorities confirmed the rescue, assuring the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.”
The kidnappers had reportedly demanded N120 ransom, vowing to kill the captives if their demands were not met.
