Momodu formally dumps PDP, joins Atiku, others to ADC
The current depletion of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is expectedly continuing unabated as the Publisher of Ovation Magazine and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu has officially resigned from the party that officially touted itself as the largest in Africa just some hours after former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar left the umbrella party for the third time.
In a resignation letter, the Media guru, noted that the PDP has been hijacked by anti-democratic interests and is now “a carcass”.
According to the letter addressed to his Ward Chairman, Momodu made it clear that because of the PDP’s internal collapse he can no longer continue with the party.
“My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight,”
Continuing, Momodu pointed out that the most honourable was to abandon the carcass of the party and support a new political movement.
“The majority of us earnestly signed up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” the Media Mogul disclosed.
He appreciated his ward leadership for the kind support they gave him during his membership of the PDP.
