Nigeria’s Super Falcons Soar Past Ghana, Gear Up For WAFCON • Channels Television
Nigeria enjoyed a commanding 3-1 win over rivals Ghana in their last friendly ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Super Falcons raced into a three-goal lead before Ghana pulled one back.
It took 34 minutes for Nigeria to get in front as Chinwendu Ihezuo netted for her side. Ten minutes later, Bay FC’s Asisat Oshoala doubled the scoreline for the West Africans.

When the second half started, Nigeria scored their third for the day courtesy of captain Rasheedat Ajibade.

The goal all but ended the game, but with two minutes to regular time, the Black Queens got a consolation strike.
Sunday’s match, played in Morocco, was the Super Falcons’ last warm-up game for the WAFCON.
Last Monday, the Nigerians battled to a goalless draw with European side Portugal.

Nigeria are in Group B of the competition alongside Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria. They will take on Tunisia in their first game on Sunday.
The Super Falcons have won the WAFCON a record nine times and are targeting a 10th crown when the tournament starts on the 5th of July, 2025.
