Organised Political Theft, Reason for Labour Party Internal Crisis.

According to the words of Richard Whatley, ” everyone wishes to have truth on his side but not everyone wishes to be on the side of truth”. This illustrates the many propaganda against the truth in Labour Party leadership tussle.

The law is blind, but justice see all. Justice is not about who is right but what is right and facts speaks for itself. Bar Julius Abure seems to have done what is right and may be on the side of justice.

Recently, the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr Alex Otti convened a stakeholders meeting of the Labour Party in Umuahia on 4th September, where he invited, Mr Peter Obi the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, all elected members of the National Assembly, State Assembly, Governorship Candidates who contested on the platform of the Labour Party, the NLC and TUC, where they constituted a parallel leadership and also dissolved all organs of the Party, including the National leadership, contrary to the constitution of the Labour Party. They claimed to be right in their actions in dissolving the organs of the party without the considerations of the Party constitution and the electoral Acts.

On the side of the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure has done what the party constitution and the electoral Acts required about Party Convention, by notifying INEC about the Convention and the organisation of the Convention, which is purely Party internal matters, therefore doing what is right with evidence.

Meanwhile, the Federal High Court has justified my narrations in affirming Abure’s Nnewi Convention legal, even before the Umuahia stakeholders meeting. Therefore of what intention is the purpose of the Umuahia stakeholders meeting if it has been affirmed legal by a competent Court?, than to throw the Party into internal crisis, which the fire is now burning menacingly.

Many observers who wishes to be on the side of truth believes that Abure is the National Chairman of the Labour Party, while those who wishes the truth to be on their side is saying the contrary, with only intention to highjacking the Party.

However, the local government elections is ongoing across the federation, and the Labour Party is the most affected, due to the outcome of the Umuahia stakeholders meeting, that constituted a rival leadership with Sen Nenadi Usman as the caretaker committee Chairperson which hasn’t been recognised by INEC.

According to the Labour Party constitution, Articles 27, section 6 states as follows:
The nominations of the Chairmanship/Councillorship Candidates for the local government shall be made by the ward Congress/local government, subject to the approval of the National Executive Council. Where an acceptable and credible person has been identified by the ward Executive Council, Local Government Area Executive Council and after due consultation with the State Executive Council and shall be subject to the approval of the National Executive Council of the Party. The NEC set up ad-hoc Appeal Committee in case of dispute and, the ad-hoc committee reports to the NEC through the NWC.

In Abia State for instance, who do the candidates loyal to Governor Alex Otti report to as NEC and NWC?, what happened if the candidates were approved by the INEC unrecognised Nenadi Usman committee?. On the other side of Abure’s NEC and NWC, the name of Abure is still in the INEC’s website and their convention has been affirmed as legal by a competent Court of law.

“Truth is by nature self evident. As soon as you remove the cobwebs of ignorance that surrounds it, it shines clear”. Don’t be be ignorant of what you know, Bar Julius Abure remains the National Chairman of Labour Party.
