PDP crisis: Police take over Wadata house

Following the controversy surrounding the holding of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) 100th NEC meeting slated by the anti Wike group and the BOT to hold this Monday, 30/6/25, armed policemen supposedly acting on orders from above have taken over the Wadata Plaza, the headquarters of the Party in Abuja.

According to a reliable source the presence of the security team is in a bid to forestall possible breakdown of law and order at the secretariat known as the Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

The reports say police disallowed a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Maina Chiroma, from entering into the premises of the secretariat while some staff that were initially allowed to go into the premises of the secretariat without any resistance from the police, were later forced out.

The stern looking policemen who arrived in the area before 5am also ordered Journalists to leave the premises of the secretariat, while Dalaba street, the main route to the secretariat was cordoned off.

The ongoing crisis rocking the party deepened on Sunday evening, as two principal figures, Samuel Anyanwu, the embattled national secretary and Taofeek Arapaja, the deputy national chairman south, issued separate notices inviting party stakeholders to national caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings respectively.
