PDP NWC constitutes caretaker committee in Lagos, Ekiti

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Working Committee, NWC, has constituted Caretaker Committees in Lagos and Ekiti States.

A statement by Umar Bature, the National Organizing Secretary, named Elder Kayode Ogunbiyi as Chairman and Chief Adele Bankole as Vice Chairman.

Members include, Mrs. Akinro Bolaji Rosaline, Mrs. Adebimpe Maria, Mrs. Ege Allen, Mr. Ifeanyi Okeke, Chief Adio Salami, Alh. Abiola Tella, and Prince Gani Ogungbayi.

Others include, Mr. Odum Kalu, Mr. Ola Odunfa, Mrs. Iberu Taiwo, Mr. Solomon Yusoof, Mr. Olusanya Abayomi, Mr. Samson Hundeyin, Mr. Oriyomi Oluwafemi, Mrs. Ijeoma Eze, Mr. Olayinka Samuel, and Mr. Jamiu Awofala.

The statement said the committee is charged with the responsibility of operating the party in the state.

“Accordingly, your Committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the Party in Lagos State, as stipulated in section 21(2) (a-b) of our Party’s Constitution, for a period of one months (30 days) or until a new Executive is elected.

“In carrying out this assignment you are guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (2017, as amended), The Electoral Act as amended 2010 and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.

“It is expected that your exemplary conduct and strict adherence to rules and regulations during your assignment will justify the confidence reposed in you by the leadership of the party,” the statement said.

Similarly, the NWC also constituted the Ekiti State Caretaker Committee in Pursuant to Section 29 (2) (b) of the party’s constitution.

Bature said Omolashe Lanre was named as the Chairman of the committee by the NWC.

The statement read: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of our great Party (PDP) has on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) Pursuant to Section 29 (2) (b) of our Constitution (2017 as amended), approved your appointment as Chairman of Ekiti State.

“Accordingly, your Committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the Party in Ekiti State, as stipulated in section 21(2) (a-b) of our Party’s Constitution, for a period of one months (30 days) or until a new
Executive is elected.

“In carrying out this assignment you are guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (2017, as amended), The Electoral Act as amended 2010 and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.

“It is expected that your exemplary conduct and strict adherence to rules and regulations during your assignment will justify the confidence reposed in you by the leadership of the party.”

Members of the committee include, Omolashe Lanre, Femi Philips, Gani Bakare, Akande Babatunde, Tosin Joel, and Ayilaran Modupe.

Others include, Pelemon Dare, Chief Arogbodo Ayodele, Segun Olatunji, Bar Gbenga Agbede, Sesan Owoeye, Gbenga Ojuawo, ARINDE Jimoh, Adara Rotimi, Banji Adeleke, and Chief Tunde Ogunleye.
