Speaker, Hon Ugwu, Unveils Trophy and Belt For 8th Edition Of Enugu State Boxing Talent Hunt

It was a dream come true for organizers and developing boxing talents as the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Uche C. Ugwu unveiled the belt and Trophy for the 8th Edition of the Boxing talent hunt in the seventeen local government areas of Enugu state.

The event which took place at the upper auditorium of Enugu state House Of Assembly on Monday was aimed at giving opportunities to younger boxers who have not even reached the level of Amateur boxing an opportunity to develop to the elite boxing level.

Addressing the audience, Rt Hon Ugwu, thanked organizers and sponsors of the boxing talent hunt programme for their efforts and enjoined them to ensure the realization of the desired target.

In his speech, the Coordinator of the grassroots talent hunt programme, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo (Ikemba), expressed gratitude to the Enugu State government, the Speaker of the house, Rt Hon Ugwu among other dignitaries for their show of support.

Mazi Okoronkwo who is an Ex- International boxer pointed out that programme has been a huge success, revealing that many have been discovered through it.

While disclosing that one of such talents who is now representing Enugu state in the on-going national boxing in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has won a medal, he promised not to relent in the effort to empower youths through Sports.
