Stop Violence Against Women In Politics – Abia LP Chairman, Igara Warns
The Abia State Labour Party Chairman, Mr Ceekay Igara, has kicked against Violence against Women in Politics.
Igara while receiving Labour Party women from the seventeen Local Government Areas at the party’s state secretariat, called for women-Inclusiveness in politics and leadership.
He described the women as vital personalities in leadership and growth, adding that where they are absent, there exists crisis and vacuum.
The Labour party state chairman encouraged the women to vie for leadership position including contesting for the Abia state House of Assembly seats which currently, has no woman as a member.
Igara stated also that Labour Party values women which prompted the inclusion of women at the various leadership level in Abia state.
“As a party, we have decided that all women are considered as we consider men in appointments and other responsibilities. If a woman is not in a ship, there will be serious crisis and vacuum” Igara stated.
