48-year-old man kidnap, r@pe 3-year-old minor in India | Read Details
A 48-year-old man, Harish Sindhi, has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and rap-ing a three-year-old girl in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.
The minor was sleeping with her mentally deranged mother and a five year old brother on a footpath outside a temple when the suspect abducted her on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
She was found on Sunday morning with injury and bite marks on her body. Her medical examination confirmed r@pe.
The accused, Harish Sindhi, was arrested on Sunday. Sindhi, who works at a tea stall in the city, was drunk when he committed the crime, police said. His wife and son do not live with him.
The child was spotted lying wrapped in a red ‘odhani’ (stole) around 6.30am Sunday by a woman who was setting up her shop outside the temple.
ACP Anil Kumar said CCTV footage showed the accused taking away the girl around 2am, while she was sleeping with her parents outside the temple.
The girl’s family is from Madhya Pradesh and resides in a slum here, said DCP (west) Rajesh Kumar Yadav.
