Governor Rotimi Akereodolu of Ondo State, Finally Transmits Power to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
After several months of political crisis over his continuous absence from office, Governor Rotimi Akereodolu of Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria has finally transmitted power to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde in a statement made available to Journalists on Tuesday said Akereodolu will on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 commence his medical leave, as a follow-up to his medical treatment.
The statement said, during the period of his medical leave, Governor Akeredolu will prioritise his health and ensure a full recovery before resuming his official duties.
It further said, a formal letter regarding the medical leave and a notice formally transferring power in line with the Nigerian Constitution will be transmitted to the House of Assembly.
According to the statement, in the absence of Governor Akeredolu, the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will assume the responsibilities of the Governor in acting capacity.
You would be recalled that this is the fifth time Governor Rotimi Akereodolu will be embarking on medical vacation in the last two years of his second and final term in office as the Chief Executive of Ondo State.
