Don’t relate with Mossad – Gumi warns Tinubu
A renowned Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has warned President Ahmed Bola Tinubu against dealing with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad.
Gumi in a post on his official Facebook handle on Wednesday alleged the presence of Mossad in Nigeria and made it clear that such poses security threat to lives, especially that of Islamic clerics.
While claiming and linking past events, including the sudden death of former Head of State, General Sani Abacha, after receiving Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in 1998, to the Israeli intelligence group, he cautioned that welcoming Mossad into Nigeria could have grave implications for the country’s unity and peace.
“The president is being ill-advised because this may cost him a lot more than he may gain,” Gumi said, urging President Bola Tinubu to reconsider any security partnership with Israel.
The cleric accused Israel of operating a “genocidal apartheid regime” and cautioned that allowing its intelligence network to gain a foothold in Nigeria could have far-reaching consequences.
The Islamic has been associated with many controversial statements that have led to several reactions from commentators and people affected by such remarks and outbursts.
