BREAKING: LP National Chairman, Abure Speaks After His Release From Detention | WATCH VIDEO
The National chairman of the Labour Party (LP), barrister Julius Abure, has been released from police detention.
Trust Base News had reported that Abure was arrested on Wednesday in Benin city, Edo state alongside Kelly Ogbaloi, the LP chairman in Edo state.
The police had said that Abure was arrested over a petition accusing him of attempted mur-der, conspiracy, illegal possession of firearms, and related offences.
Speaking after he was released on bail, Abure in a video posted on the X handle of the Labour Party Nigeria, said;
“Many countries of the world where freedom fighters have fought for the emancipation of the people, freedom fighters suffer injustice, prosecution and it is what is happening to me and my other colleagues since after the general elections”.
Abure was arrested barely hours to the party’s primary election ahead of the 2024 governorship election in Edo state.
