NMDPRA bans petrol tankers with 60,000-Litre capacity on roads | READ DETAILS

 

To help curtail the series of fuel tanker accidents, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has banned 60000-litre petrol tankers from operating on roads in the country.

According to the Executive Director of Distribution Systems, Storage, and Retailing Infrastructure, NMDPRA, Ogbugo Ukoha,  who spoke to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, the ban will take effect from March 1, 2025.

In his words;

“Beginning from March 1, 2025, trucks with a capacity in excess of 60,000 litres will not be allowed to load in any loading depot of petroleum products.

“By Q4 of 2025, we will also preclude the loading or transportation of petroleum products of any truck in excess of 45,000 litres. That is the breaking news for today.”
