An Abuja Federal High Court Judge, Justice James Omotosho has granted bail for Saleh Mamman, the former Minister of Power, a bail of ₦10 billion and requires two sureties to provide the same amount.

During the hearing of the bail application on Friday 12 July, Justice Omotosho also stated that the sureties must possess properties in Abuja worth at least ₦750 million.

The court ruled that the sureties are expected to provide the court with certified land documents along with a three-year tax assessment.

The court has also ruled that the defendants are required to provide bank statements and international passports to the court.

Alternatively, the court determined that the defendant has the option to present a bank guarantee for the specified amount, and if provided, no surety will be required.

The court has decided to postpone the case until September 25, 2024, when the trial will begin.
