The National Vice Chairman, South East of the Labour Party, Mr Ceekay Igara has charged the people of Anambra state on the need to take their future in to their hands by deciding who will lead them in the next four years using the ballots.
Igara while giving the charge in a press release issued on Wednesday, ahead of the upcoming governorship election in Anambra state, also advised electorates to vote, stay behind and ensure their votes are counted on election day.
The party leader also encouraged the electoral Body, INEC, to “partner with organizations to register eligible voters, especially in underrepresented communities to make them ready for the November 8,2025 elections.”
Igara assured that the Labour Party will on April 5, elect candidates at their primaries who can fly the flag of the party and give the people proper governance.
The statement titled; “TIME TO TAKE YOUR FUTURE IN YOUR HANDS” read;
Another election year is here on you and it is time to make that all important decision for the development of your state by taking your future in your own hands by coming out en-masse to vote for the candidates and political parties of your choice.
The importance of voting during elections cannot be over-emphasized because it impacts on both your local and national issues. While we seek for a nation where voting is made accessible online to enhance early registration, and voting convenient for all, may I implore you to by all means come out in your numbers and decide who leads you for the next four years.
I want to also implore the Independent National Electoral, INEC, to as quickly as possible partner with organizations to register eligible voters, especially in underrepresented communities to make them ready for the November 8,2025 elections.
Make plans to vote, protect your votes and ensure you wait for your votes to be counted.
To all Labour Party faithful across the state, on April 5th we will decide the candidates that would fly our flag at the polls, when that is done, please throw your weight behind them, remember our party represents the people, use all available platforms to educate the people on the need to vote.
We will engage and collaborate with community leaders, influencers to encourage voting. We must address the issues of Healthcare, education, security and infrastructure which are the basic needs of our people.
I want to also admonish the political class to focus on issue based campaigns and avoid heating up the polity. Anambra belongs to the people, allow them chose who their next leaders would be.
