Abia APC Tags Gov Otti’s Government “One Man Show” Accuses Him Of Sidelining Key Actors and Anchoring Propaganda.
Dr. Kingsley C. Ononogbu, the All Progressive Congress ( APC) state Chairman on Sunday during the inauguration of the state chapter of the Renewed Hope Partners says Governor Alex Otti’s administration, is operating a “one-man show” driven by propaganda rather than purposeful governance.
Also speaking, Ononogbu accuses Governor Otti’s administration of lack of accountability, transparency, and proper institutional checks and balances.
He described the government as one where the governor acts simultaneously as chief executive, chief accountant, and auditor, sidelining due process and good governance practices.
“Abia today is nothing but a one-man show anchored on a well-oiled propaganda machinery. Accountability is long gone. Checks and balances are non-existent, and conflict of interest has become the norm,” Ononogbu stated.
He also revealed that the governor is running the state from his private residence while pushing plans to convert the newly built Government House into a luxury hotel.
“This administration prefers to govern necodemously from a private home while over N34 billion has been spent in 23 months under the subhead: GOVERNMENT HOUSE,” he revealed.
According to Enyimba FM Facebook page a popular radio station based in Abia, where the APC state Chairman was seen in a viral video a criticising the Governor’s portrayal of Abia on social media as misleading and a disconnection from the realities on the ground.
He however acknowledged an improvement in road infrastructure, as he accuses the process of awarding contracts as being below acceptable standards, and lacking transparency.
Ononogbu, called for unity and grassroots engagement as he promised that the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Partners usher in foundation for meaningful development in the state.
He charged the group to help in educating citizens on the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, including fuel subsidy removal, student loan programs, improved federal allocations, and infrastructure developments like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.
Reiterating President Tinubu’s reform efforts, he said, “The president has dealt a deadly blow to economic parasites and placed Nigeria on the path of sustainable growth and development.”
Ononogbu also used the platform to call on aggrieved APC members in Abia State to return to the fold in the spirit of reconciliation. “Do we want to win at the federal level and lose Abia State? No,” he emphasized.
He urged all Renewed Hope Partners to formally join the APC, describing the party as the vehicle to a better future for the state and the country.
