ADC: Atiku, David Mark, others will return to PDP – Damagum claims
The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Umar Damagum has predicted that those who left to join the coalition will return.
Damagum disclosed that no party is as accommodating as the PDP.
This comes as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President David Mark and some former governors joined the coalition.
On Wednesday, the coalition had unveiled the African Democratic Congress as its official political party.
At the unveiling in Abuja, the leaders of the ADC stepped down for Mark to emerge as Interim National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary.
However, Damagum warned of disciplinary action against those engaged in anti-party activities.
Addressing a press briefing in Abuja, Damagum said, “To those that are contemplating, they should not, they have no place and there’s nowhere that will be as accommodating as our party. But if they feel there are, I will wish them good luck. But I know they will run back.
“I want to re-emphasise that if you are a member of the People’s Democratic Party, we are drawing a line for those who go to demarket the party. We are watching them and we will take appropriate actions at the right time.”
