Buhari’s burial date shifted to Tuesday
Following some little adjustments, the burial of former Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari earlier scheduled to hold this Monday (14/5/25) has been shifted to Tuesday, July 15.
The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, who made the announcement while addressing journalists on Monday, said the decision was reached after due consultation with his family.
According to him, “We have made consultation with his family and people around him in London, we have concluded that the body will arrive tomorrow by 12pm.”
He therefore announced that the remains will be laid to rest at 2pm illness, in Daura, his hometown in Katsina.
DAILY POST reports that the body of the former president is currently being flown from London, the United Kingdom, UK to Nigeria.
Governor Radda expressed deep condolences on behalf of himself, the state government, and the people of Katsina State, to the family of the late President and all Nigerians.
Meanwhile, reports monitored from Channels TV say the paper work to perfect the release of Buhari’s body from the hospital in London has begun and would be released once the documentation was perfected.
According to the reports, heavy security dominated Daura including the entrance of the Daura Emirate Council, commercial activities continued uninterruptedly along the major road linking to the deceased residence.
