WAFCON 2024: Plumptre, Okafor cleared to face South Africa
Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu has provided a positive injury update on Ashleigh Plumptre, and Chioma Okafor.
Plumptre missed training on Sunday, prompting speculations she could miss Nigeria’s crunch semi-final clash with Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
The defender has made three appearances for Nigeria at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Okafor is yet to make an appearance for the nine-time Champions in the competition.
Madugu said the two players are available for selection.
“There are no worries for Ashleigh, just precautionary measures. No issues, no problems at all. Okafor, we’ll assess her and see how we can possibly give her an opportunity when the need arises,” Madugu told a press conference.
