A three storey building accommodating students of the Alex Ekwueme federal University, Ndufo-Alike ( AI-FUNAI) in Ebonyi State reportedly collapsed this Friday (25/7/25) with no life lost.

According to reliable sources in the area, a portion of the bloc of the private building named pentagon lodge with 5 different blocs was captured collapsing at about Noon this Friday.

AI-FUNAI Public Relations Officer, Elom Iyke Ubochi, who confirmed the incident, told Hanto Daily News that the incident happened during lecture hours.

He, however, thanked God that no life was lost to the incident.

According to the University PRO, “From what I’ve heard so far, there’s no casualty..it happened during school hour, students were in school for lectures and other activities, but unfortunately some of their properties where affected.

“We’re expecting any student affected by the incident that happened in the private accommodation outside the school environment to make a formal report to the Dean student’s affair to let the management know, but so far, no human casualty,” he stated .
