Delta gov announces date for U-17 Unity Cup commencement
Delta State has announced August 3, 2025, as the kick-off date for the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori U-17 Unity Cup.
Amurun Idama, a Sports analyst and enthusiast, disclosed this in a statement at the weekend.
He said the grassroots Sports tournament will adopt a round-robin format, with all eight local government areas in the state participating.
According to him, the competition will serve as an incubation ground for discovering some of Nigeria’s top football talents.
He added that the Champions of the tournament will receive N5 million, while consolation prizes will range between N1 million and N3 million.
“The Sheriff Oborevwori U-17 Unity Cup is designed to bring together the youth of Delta Central through Sports and provide fertile ground for discovering future stars,” he said.
