Give us details about how ‘Palestinian Pele’ died – Salah hits out at UEFA
Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, has hit out at UEFA for posting a tribute to Suleiman al-Obei who is also known as ‘Palestinian Pele’.
The tribute from the European football governing body did not contain the cause of Obei’s death.
A statement from the Palestinian Football Association, PFA, claimed that the 41-year-old died after Israeli forces targeted southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
UEFA wrote on X: “Farewell to Suleiman al-Obeid, the ‘Palestinian Pele’. A talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest of times.”
Salah quote-tweeted the post with: “Can you tell us how he died, where, and why?”
Obeid was married and had five children.
