Recall, Sowore has been involved in a protracted legal battle with the police, resulting in the seizure of his passport.

Before his arrest last week, Sowore, who was released on Friday night by the police after spending over 48 hours in detention at the Force Headquarters in Abuja had in January 2025, faced 17 counts of cybercrime offences over his repeated description of Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun as “illegal.”
