Bauchi Vice Principal demoted to class teacher for punishing student
The Bauchi State Special Schools Management Board has demoted the Vice Principal (Academics) of Jibril Aminu Model Secondary School to the position of classroom teacher for allegedly administering severe corporal punishment on a student.
The decision followed an emergency meeting of the board’s senior management committee, which deliberated on reports of the incident that raised concerns among parents and education stakeholders.
Confirming the action, the board chairman, Babangida Barau Jibrin, appealed for calm, assuring that the matter was receiving due attention.
He explained that while disciplinary measures would be taken after a thorough investigation, the board remains committed to enforcing discipline in line with modern educational standards that safeguard students’ rights and welfare.
Jibrin further reiterated the board’s commitment to quality teaching and effective school management across the state, adding that any staff member found guilty of breaching ethical standards would face appropriate sanctions.
