UCL roundup: Real Madrid pip Juventus, Chelsea thrash Ajax
Real Madrid maintained their perfect start to this season’s Champions League campaign with a narrow 1–0 victory over Juventus on Wednesday night.
The La Liga giants struggled to break down Igor Tudor’s side for most of the game.
However, the decisive moment came in the second half when Jude Bellingham reacted quickest to Vinícius Júnior’s shot that rebounded off the post.
Chelsea ran riot at Stamford Bridge, thrashing Ajax 5–1, with Marc Guiu, Moisés Caicedo, Enzo Fernández, Willian Estevão and Tyrique George all getting on the scoresheet.
Elsewhere, Bayern Munich hammered Club Brugge 4–0, while Liverpool returned to winning ways with a 5–1 victory away at Frankfurt.
There were no goals in the Monaco vs Tottenham Hotspur and Atalanta vs Slavia Prague fixtures.
