NPFL: Abraham in sound health after Katsina United’s attack on Barau FC
Barau FC’s Nana Abraham says that he has recovered well after the matchday 12 attack against Katsina United.
Abraham sustained an injury following the violence that erupted during the clash between Katsina United and Barau FC at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Saturday.
It would be recalled that violence started when Barau FC equalised through Orji Kalu in the 69th minute, forcing the match to be temporarily halted.
Play later resumed after the intervention of security officials and eventually ended in a 1–1 draw.
“Good, I am feeling better right now. Actually, our medical team did their best in treating my injuries,” Abraham told Barau FC’s media.
“It’s unfortunate what happened. Football is not a war, you can either win, draw, or lose. We’ve played five home games, won one, drawn three, and lost one, nothing happened. So why should we be attacked here?”
Katsina United were fined N9 million and banished to Jos, with their matches to be played behind closed doors as punishment for the security breach.
