Atiku’s son Abba formalizes defection to APC
A son of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Mallam Abba Abubakar, has formally defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Abba did this Monday morning by obtaining his APC membership card via ongoing APC e-registration at his Gwadabawa Ward in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
He then moved over to the Adamawa State secretariat of the party at Scope Road in central Yola where he was received by the state chairman and other members of the party’s state Executive Council.
In his remark, Abba said he was encouraged to move into the APC by the performance of President Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu, according to Abba, is the best person Nigeria can hope to have this material time and in the near future.
Abba’s move from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC is coming six months after his father left the PDP to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Abba vows to support the return of Bola Tinubu in 2027, just as Atiku struggles to consolidate his hold on ADC and perceivably seek to contest for the presidency under it come 2027.
The Chairman of APC in Adamawa State, Idris Shuaibu said the APC appreciates Abba’s conviction that President Bola Tinubu is doing well.
Shuaibu said the APC leadership is happy that Abba is availing the party the benefit of his experience.
