Henrietta Bulabari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has emerged winner of the Khana 2 State House of Assembly Constituency bye-election in Rivers State after securing 7,647 votes.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Angela Briggs, declared Bulabari the winner, stating, “having satisfied the requirements of the law.”
According to the officially announced results, the votes scored by the parties were:
AA – 46
APC – 7,647
NNPP – 37
YPP – 23
ZLP – 47
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that out of 71,914 registered voters, only 7,834 accredited voters participated in the election.
A total of 7,800 votes were declared valid, while 34 ballots were rejected.
Party agents were present during the collation and announcement of the results.
Reacting to her victory, Bulabari said she was “extremely” happy with the outcome, describing the election as free, fair, smooth, peaceful, and successful.
She also pledged to make her constituents happy by executing impactful projects across the constituency.
