BREAKING: ADC crisis: David Mark, Atiku, Obi, Kwankwanso, others arrive Abuja
Chieftains of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rauf Aregbesola, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and David Mark, on Thursday arrived at a press conference venue in Abuja to address the media over the party’s ongoing leadership crisis.
The briefing follows a decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to remove the names of Mark and Aregbesola from its official portal as National Chairman and National Secretary of the party, respectively.
DAILY POST reported that INEC also said it would not recognise Nafiu Bala Gombe, who is seeking to be declared national chairman through the courts.
The Commission further announced that it had suspended recognition of all factions within the party and would not monitor any conventions or congresses organised by groups aligned with the affected leaders.
According to INEC, the decision will remain in effect pending the final determination of a substantive suit before the Federal High Court.
