The Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN), unveiled its media briefing on Monday 29th June 2026, with a renewed calls for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 and an assurance of grass root mobilization and anchoring Tinubu’s campaign on the administration’s loudable achievements over the last three years rather and not mere political rhetoric.
The world Press conference also made a political statement as it unveiled its mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general election.
National Coordinator of RHGN, Calistus Anyanwu, said the group was established to promote public understanding of the Tinubu administration’s reforms and their impact on national development.
According to him, unlike other pro-Tinubu campaign groups, RHGN intends to focus its nationwide engagement on showcasing the government’s policy achievements and explaining how they are expected to deliver long-term benefits to Nigerians.
“RHGN was not conceived in the pursuit of political patronage. It was born from the belief that leadership should be judged by performance. Reforms should be judged by results. Public policies should be judged by their impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.”
Anyanwu said the group’s membership cuts across professionals, farmers, artisans, business owners, academics, traditional rulers, women, youths, members of the diaspora and grassroots mobilisers, all united by a shared commitment to promoting what it described as evidence-based assessment of government policies.
Anyanwu listed the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange market, the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), ongoing tax reforms, direct remittance of statutory allocations to the 774 local government councils and the constitutional amendment process to establish state police as some of the landmark initiatives of the Tinubu administration that would form the basis of the group’s campaign.
He disclosed that RHGN would, in the coming weeks and months, engage heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to provide Nigerians with detailed accounts of projects, reforms and programmes implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
While acknowledging that many Nigerians are facing economic hardship as a result of the administration’s reforms, Anyanwu argued that the temporary sacrifices would ultimately yield lasting economic benefits.
“History rarely celebrates leaders for avoiding difficult decisions. It remembers those who made them when their nations needed them most.
“We believe that facts deserve a voice. We believe that reforms deserve informed public scrutiny. Above all, we believe that Nigerians deserve a national conversation founded on evidence rather than emotion.”
He added that the group would embark on nationwide town hall meetings to explain the implementation of government policies, engage citizens on the progress of the Renewed Hope Agenda, receive feedback and strengthen communication between the government and the public.
“We are mobilising our people across every nook and cranny of our nation to drive that conversation and build a greater Nigeria where brotherhood flourishes not only in the inspiring words of our national anthem but also in our daily lives,” he said.
State coordinators of RHGN from across the 36 states of the federation, alongside national officers of the organisation, attended the press conference.
The RHGN leader praised reforms aimed at strengthening democracy beyond individual administrations. He specifically mentioned the implementation of local government autonomy as a move to restore governance to the grassroots and make democracy meaningful at the community level.
He described the recent passage of the state police constitutional alteration bill as one of the most significant security reforms in Nigeria’s democratic history. According to him, state-based policing will complement federal institutions and respond better to local realities.
Anyanwu also commended the cordial relationship between the Executive and the National Assembly, saying respect for constitutional boundaries has reduced institutional confrontation and accelerated the movement of reforms from policy to implementation
